2011

  • AZEK adds a new training course to the program 2012. With the course Financial Market Operator/FMO, AZEK launches its third course. The course will start in February 2012.

2007

  • AZEK launches AZEK Campus, the one-day seminars for financial professionals.
  • AZEK has teamed up with LawInContext, the interactive knowledge and training company created by the global law firm, Baker & McKenzie. The main goal of this partnership is to develop the Certified International Wealth Manager course (CIWM) in the field of Wealth Management.
  • AZEK introduces the new corporate design and standardises its name. The training centre is now known in all languages as "AZEK - The Swiss Training Centre for Investment Professionals".

2006

  • Retirement of Prof Dr André Bender, co-founder of AZEK and the first and so far only President of SFAA's Examination Commission. A farewell aperitif reception is held in his honour in Geneva.

2005

  • The Certified International Wealth Manager CIWM is awarded for the first time.
  • Dr Philipp Sormani, co-founder of AZEK, decides to devote more of his time to his own company and resigns from both the Board of Directors and SFAA's Examination Commission.

2004

  • AZEK offers the internationally recognised diploma, Certified International Wealth Manager CIWM, developed and lauched in Switzerland.

2002

  • With 426 students, AZEK marks an all-time high. Some candidates have to postpone their entry by one year due to the overwhelming demand for places.

2001

  • The diploma course leading to the Federal diploma for financial analyst and portfolio manager is thoroughly revised, concurrently with the introduction of the international diploma, Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA. Two diplomas can be gained by studying the same course and taking only one examination.
  • Dr Jean-Claude Dufournet, co-founder of AZEK, is appointed as its CEO. He previously took charge of AZEK's affairs on a fiduciary basis.

1997

  • The Centro di Studi Bancari starts to train students in Tessin.
  • AZEK launches its second course, leading to the Federal diploma for expert in finance and investments.

1992

  • 54 people graduate from the AZEK course and are the first to be awarded the Federal diploma for financial analyst and portfolio manager.

1991

  • AZEK commences its educational activities with its first course leading to the Federal diploma for financial analyst and portfolio manager.
  • AZEK's parent organisation, SFAA, is recognised by the Swiss Government as the awarding body for the Federal diploma for financial analyst and portfolio manager.

1990

  • The Swiss Financial Analysts Association SFAA sets up AZEK - The Swiss Training Centre for Investment Professionals. Dr Jean-Claude Dufournet and Dr Philipp Sormani, both owners of Brainsoft Consulting at the time, are responsible for developing the courses and preparing to set up AZEK.
