What are the entry requirements for the courses?

course is intended for people who work in the Middle- and Backoffice, IT, accounting, audit etc., in functions of the support area. To be admitted to the final examination candidates must have one of the following backgrounds or qualifications:

  • "KV-Lehrabschluss" (Swiss qualification in trade and commerce, commercial certificate) or "Maturität" (Swiss certificate of completion of secondary education qualifying for university entrance, A-Levels) and 5 years of vocational experience; or
  • Bachelor of Sciences and 3 years of professional experience
  • University degree (license or equivalent diploma) and 2 years of vocational experience.
 
When is the closing date for registration?
Closing date is 30th November
 
When does the course start and how long does it take (including the final examination)?
The academic year starts in February and runs until March of the following year, including the examination period. The induction courses already start in December of the preceding year and in January. So you can reckon with a course of 15 months in total.
 
How much does the AZEK course cost?
  • Course for Financial Market Operator FMO: CHF 11,200 (around CHF 40/hour), including
  • instruction materials (Tablet-PC and access to IT programs)
  • Foundation examination and final examination total: CHF 3,300
  • Induction course in mathematics: CHF 1,090 (around CHF 36/hour)
  • Induction course in accounting: CHF 480 (CHF 40/hour)
 
Are you allowed to use the corresponding designations after being awarded the diploma?
Yes, this is (including an example): Swiss diplomas:

Is it possible to apply to be registered on a course even if one is not currently in employment?
Yes, to prove vocational experience employers' references must be submitted with the registration.
 
Is the instruction material also available in other languages?
The majority of the documentation is written in English.
 
Can the course be taken by distance learning?
No, AZEK does not offer distance learning. However, the courses are conducted in the same way as at universities. So there is no obligatory attendance.
 
Where are the courses held?
 
On what days are the courses held?
The courses are usually held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
 
Can the course be split over two years?
No, the course lasts one year and cannot be split over two years, even if you have not passed the foundation examination in September or do not even take it.
 
I would like to change career and work in the financial sector, but do not have the right experience. Can I still attend the course?
In order to be admitted to the examination you must meet the requirements, i.e. by then it is essential to have a university degree (license or equivalent diploma) and 1 year of vocational experience or KV-Lehrabschluss" (Swiss qualification in trade and commerce, commercial certificate) or "Maturität" (Swiss certificate of completion of secondary education qualifying for university entrance, A-Levels) and 3 years of vocational experience .
